Privacy Policy

When you supply your personal details to this clinic they are now legally protected under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) set up to safeguard your personal data. The GDPR now requires me to gain your explicit consent to allow me to document this data.

Osteopaths need to collect personal information about your health in order to provide the best possible treatment. We only collect what is relevant and necessary. This information is then stored securely on paper, in a locked filing cabinet. It is not shared with anyone, the exception being other healthcare practitioners such as GP’s, consultants and/or medical insurance companies (where this is required I will ask for your consent first).

I have a legal obligation to retain your records for 8 years after your most recent appointment (or aged 25 if this is longer) but after this period you can ask me to delete your records if you wish. Otherwise I will retain your records indefinitely in order that I can provide you with the best possible care should you need to see me at some later date.

You have the right to see what personal data of yours I hold, and you can ask me to correct any factual errors.

If you are unhappy about the handling of your information please inform me first but you have the right to raise the matter with the Information Commissioner’s office.
